I’m so excited for this week’s training, we’re going to do our first Worship Song Workshop!!
A song workshop is where I break down a song and demonstrate some tips for beginners, intermediate and advanced players to tackle playing it.
For my beginners + intermediate players, I’ll be staying primarily in block chording or simple inversions, maybe offering some tips to stretch you a bit out of your comfort zone. Talk about playing as a rhythm instrument with a band, tips to blend with other instruments, and introduce some color chording into the mix..
So what’s our first workshop?
For more advanced players, I’ll demonstrate the accurate way to play the song with correct lead lines, intros, transitions and voicings. I’ll be using all the correct color chords and will not be spending a ton of time teaching. This is for players who just want to practice getting the correct voicings, it will not be helpful for beginners. 🙂

Drill of the Week! 🎶
This week’s drill is a hand independence exercise! This is a Hand Independence drill and it’s not designed to be easy. 🙂 If the advanced variation I cover here isn’t challenging enough, do two octaves and in several keys!

Be sure to play slowly and steadily in the beginning. Don’t pick up the speed until you can play the whole thing without mistakes!
Give yourself a LOT of grace for this one and don’t worry about mastering it. Just know that as you’re working on it, you’re making MAJOR advances in your hand independence journey!
Practice this exercise 10x daily.
